Not really a concept, more a lightly disguised production car, the 01 is the first fruit of a new brand called Lynk & Co. Set up by Chinese firm Geely as a sister company to Volvo, which it also owns, Lynk & Co is aimed at a youthful, tech-savvy customer base.
Quarterly magazine Interior Motives commissioned a feature about the development of the concept. I spoke to senior members of the team based at Geely Design in Gothenburg.
Key quote
“In the initial stages we didn’t even have a studio. We started from very humble beginnings, but eventually we got the studio built up and established”
Simon Padian, interaction design director, Geely Design
