Citroën C-Aircross: gunning for the young

Citroen C-Aircross

Working for Car Design News at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, I spoke to Frédéric Duvernier, head of concept cars at Citroën, about the C-Aircross concept.

We talked about the car’s youthful colour scheme – inspired by sneakers and jeans – as well as the simplicity of its form language and the influence of China on car design. In China, the average age of a new car buyer is about 25 years younger than the 55-60 year-olds who typically buy new in Europe.

Key quote
“I love those spectacular 1970s wheels [like on] the original Countach – the wheels are a real tribute to this period”
Frédéric Duvernier, Head of Citroën Concept Cars
