Car Design Review 5

CDR 5 pages showing Max Missoni interview and Engineering roundup

I was very pleased to contribute to Car Design Review 2017, the fifth annual yearbook published by Car Design News.

An impressively weighty and glossy hardback, the latest yearbook rounds up the key vehicles, personalities and trends of the year in car design. Visit any working automotive design studio and you’re likely to see well-thumbed copies dotted about.

My contributions to the yearbook included:

  • A roundup of the year’s key trends in engineering with a design impact
  • A profile of Maximilian Missoni, VP of exterior design at Volvo, who I interviewed at the company’s Gothenburg studio
  • A Q&A feature with Andreas Mägerlein and Alexandre Dreyer, heads of BASF Designfabrik in Germany and Asia respectively
  • An interview with Kate Fischer, lead HMI manager at Fast Design, who I visited at the company’s base in Bologna
  • A profile of Tim Shih, group VP design and research at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, who I met at the 2017 Frankfurt show

The yearbook costs £85 and can be ordered from Car Design News.
